I loved making this cover, the play is amazing, dark, very scary, child loss, war…So I used to photographs I took. One of trees, obsessed with trees, their knots, sign language…and the other from the old Bolton Library window, that’s the Rock of Cashel in background with the orange warning light of coming death…Martin Collender’s play reminds me of The Monkey’s Paw, very grim yet beautiful. And as a play its bloody fantastic as there’s no mawkish manipulation of using the sences to add drama…it’s just the bare story and some stage directions. It’s a safe space for exploring dark topics. Martina also has a play on in Tipperary Museum for Vulture Night 2023.
