The Quirks

Author: Erin Soderberg
ISBN: 9781408842935
Age: MG
Summary
Mom can control minds; Grandpa twists time; Molly’s twin sister Penelope has an all-too-real imagination; and Finn is the pesky kid brother — who happens to be invisible. Then there’s Molly, the most unusual Quirk of all. Molly is completely, utterly normal.

Molly’s greatest desire is to fit in, and she’s found the perfect spot: Normal, Michigan. With its cookie cutter houses, welcoming committees, and all-town competitions, it seems like just the place for an ordinary new life. But the Quirks aren’t known for fitting in — especially in a place like Normal…

My Review
Well, well, well! That’s some blurb! I don’t normally post blurbs that are so long but this one is special – because it answers the five W’s and I love it when that happens.
I love that Soderberg worked for Nickelodeon! Ohh and the table of contents is printed landscape, nice. There is a lot to like about this book: the different fonts they use, the bubbles on each page, the funny chapter headings, the pictures and the story.
The prologue is beautifully written and it’s sets up us for the rest of the book, which is written almost like screen play. This is a visual book and I’m positive that all young readers would thoroughly enjoy The Quirks.
Many thanks to Bloomsbury for the review copy.
