I was lucky enough to have been asked by @TopGold to be a guest lecturer. The lecture was a sort of Multimedia meets PR. Bernie is a scholar and his generosity of notes and background info shared with me, was greatly appreciated. He uses EverNote, Dropbox, Google documents with his pupils to great effect.
We covered planning, USP, Social Media, branding, PR, memes, Pen & Pixel, LoSoMo, Measure What Matters by Katie Paine, Six Degrees of Separation by Mitch Joel, e-portfolios, flicker, g+, Twitter, Facebook, linking accounts with RSS feed, online privacy, Tipp FM, The Nationalist, video clips, still images, Tipperary Schools Conference @ictedu, #edchatie , Liam Daily , trust agents, appropriate channels for disseminating social media, Catherine Ryan Howard , Krishna De , Documentally , Inis by Children’s Books Ireland (just read the thought and planning that goes into a graphic novel or picture book…you could easily apply this to brand graphics) ……and then some.
Clonmel LIT is a fantastic college, the course is pretty awesome. And I should know as I asked the students to write the USP of their course; specifying the multimedia objects that makes the course more compelling.
I have a passion, a passion for fashion. No, no I don’t. But I do have a passion for learning, reading, re-learning. I like to keep on the cusp of IT, teaching, creative writing, multi-media, branding, pr and yeah, even fashion. Today I had to dig deep and fish out my USP behind the brand that has become MoloneyKing. I lectured, I integrated active learning, pair work…heck I even slipped in a bit of SPHE….being a trained primary school teacher in a third level setting works. I think that we should all try different levels to keep us re-learning.
PS Happy Birthday Albert Einstein. “The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives.”
Forgive the different colour links, I wrote this on the iPad using HTMl. And yes, the irony of a post being published about multimedia with no multimedia…is not lost on me. But maybe you need this clean space to create your own multimedia thoughts….
